Béla Fleck, the headliner for this year’s Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival, has been nominated for 3 more Grammys this year. Béla has already won an astounding 6 Grammys. His nominations this year were for “Throw Down Your Heart,” from the Best Pop Instrument Performance category. ”Throw Down Your Heart: Tales From The Acoustic Planet, Vol. 3 – African Sessions,” from the Best Contemporary World Music Album category. The third nomination was for “The Melody of Rhythm,” within the Best Classical Crossover Album category.
It is incredible to think that Béla Fleck has been nominated in more categories than any other musician in history, with 25 nominations in all. Also, at the CBB Festival you can hear Béla Fleck perform with Alash, the African group with whom he was a Grammy last year for their rendition of “Jingle Bells.” They have never performed together on stage prior to this tour.
