Liberty Bluegrass Band
The Liberty Bluegrass Band is dedicated to traditional bluegrass music that would fit perfectly in any Texas smokey honkey-tonk. Our sets are fresh and original featuring LBB original songs and songs done in a style that be best described as inventive. Our gospel sets can bring reverence to any setting. We are the 2009 WAMI (WI Area Music Industry) Bluegrass Artist of the Year, 2008 WAMI CD Roulette Winning Band and were nominated as the 2008 WAMI Bluegrass Artist of the Year. Notable past performances include the Harley Davidson 105th Anniversary Celebration, three past performances at the Bluegrass Benefit Festival for Juvenile Diabetes, NYC's Googies Lounge Above The Living Room, NYC's folksy Jalopy Theatre, Tacoma's Mandolin Cafe, Wilmington, OH Taking Care of Business Benefit Concert and many other bluegrass and community events including the WI State Fair. Upcoming notable shows include the first Bluegrass Caravan with stops at Milwaukee's Shank Hall and Baraboo's 700-seat AL Ringling Theatre. We'll also be sharing the stage at the 2009 Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival with headliner Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Chicago's 4000-seat Congress Theatre.

Biography
LBB was formed in early 2006 to provide an outlet to four bluegrass fanatics to express our love for this music. Lead and harmony vocals set LBB apart from the field. We love to entertain and it shows on stage. Rick provides great lead vocals and MC duties.
Instrumentation
Rick Lewis provides smooth, strong and soaring vocals. Rick is one of the best bluegrass lead singers in the midwest. Rick plays the Collings guitar. Eric Langford joins in on lead, sings a tight harmony, plays mandolin and bluegrass fiddle. Eric plays an old time, haunting style fiddle. James Brocksmith picks the Scrugg style 5-string banjo. Couillard plays the all-important foundation to any bluegrass band, the upright bass.
